Security Analytics Leader Placed Highest, Exceptional in Solution Impact

ADDISON, Texas, May 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Securonix, the market leader in big data security analytics and user and entity behavior analytics, announced today that the company was named a Value Leader and received special recognition as Technology Innovator in the EMA Radar for Security Analytics: Q2 2018. The report evaluated security analytics vendors across the categories of: Deployment and Administration, Cost Advantage, Architecture and Integration, Functionality, and Vendor Strength.

According to the report, Securonix received the Technology Innovator recognition for its vision and influence in the market. The report states, “Securonix founders and lead technologists saw the gaps in SIEM and created the company and its technology specifically to address the failures of SIEM in the analytics area. Its application of intellectual property created a strong solution that is receiving great acceptance in the market. It has been one of the catalysts in the security analytics market, pushing other SIEM vendors to do better, making it a technology innovator.”

“Securonix has always pushed the envelope in technology innovation, from behavior analytics to automated incident response, to reimagining SIEM,” said Tanuj Gulati, CTO of Securonix. “The report accurately reflects what we’re hearing from customers—that they need a distributed solution that combines big data capabilities with advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence to get actionable security intelligence and act on it in real-time. It’s the only way to combat the increasing advancements in cyber attacks.”

The Securonix Security Analytics Platform received outstanding ratings for deployment and administration, and functionality, including workflow management, user interface, reporting, and incorporating historical threat details. In addition, the platform’s data searching functionality and detection, identification, and analysis of threat types were deemed outstanding. According the report, “Architecture and integration are both strong, but the tool really excels at detection, identification, and analysis of threat types. This is likely due to the unusually large number of machine learning models used to detect threats.”

The following Securonix strengths were highlighted in the report:

  • Single Hadoop platform which enables both storage and analysis of extremely large data sets
  • Large number of machine learning models to better detect threats
  • Spotter™ search and threat-hunting workbench, as well as automated response capabilities

The EMA Radar for Security Analytics: Q2 2018 delves into the platforms, solutions, and products supplying log-based security analytics to security practitioners for the express purpose of providing them with fewer actionable alerts without the tuning side effects that can filter out alerts on actual threat activity. The report evaluates vendors across five major categories supported by over 100 KPIs. EMA evaluated, scored, and ranked each vendor under the same documented criteria.

The EMA Radar Report is the most recent in a list of recognitions Securonix and its products have received in the past month. The company also received the Govies Award for Big Data Analytics from Security Today, and the 2018 SC Magazine Trust Award for Best SIEM Solution.
